Scholar and Business Student Forecasts a Bright Future in Academia

Ahmed Al-Bulushi is a Fulbright Scholar attending Argosy University/Chicago during a study leave from Majan College University College (MCUC) in Sultanate of Oman. Moving halfway around the world to attend a new college is not the easiest move to make, but when Al-Bulushi decided to expand his horizons and educational opportunities in business and academia, he felt right at home at Argosy University/Chicago.

Al-Bulushi is a doctor of business administration (DBA) student enrolled in Argosy University/Chicago's College of Business and Information Technology. Currently, as a full-time international student, Al-Bulushi's career aspirations include becoming dean of a business school or a vice president of academic affairs.

"The DBA program at Argosy University/Chicago is unique in a sense that students have an opportunity to direct his or her study into areas that a student finds interesting and purposeful for future careers," says Al-Bulushi.

Al-Bulushi's previous experience in higher education includes being a university professor and program chair for the business and accounting school at MCUC. He also is a member of senior management at Majan University, and is a founding member of the DBA Association at Argosy University/Chicago. With this wealth of experience, Al-Bulushi brings with him a great deal of scholarly experience from his home country.

"I chose to study at Argosy University/Chicago mainly because of the flexibility model and blended teaching and learning techniques which is found specifically in the Business program at Argosy University/Chicago." Additionally, says Al-Bulushi, the courses offered expand across a wide range of my concentration. "As a researcher, I am encouraged in every course to produced publishable papers - this, in itself, is a valuable training for my future professional endeavors."
