Tampa Student Leads Supply Drive for School Students

Argosy University, Tampa recently held a bake sale to raise money for Hillsborough Education Foundation. The foundation will use the donations to buy school supplies for children in need.

This year’s drive was organized by graduate assistant William Fitzgerald and his wife, Maria. William is working toward a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

William, a U.S. Army veteran, delivered 35 pounds of school supplies and $200 from the bake sale to Hillsborough. The supplies will stock its Teaching Tools store that gives away free school supplies to any teacher from Hillsborough County Title I schools.

This year, the store provided over $2 million in free school supplies that help teachers to better prepare students for classroom tasks.

The Hillsborough Education Foundation has many opportunities for donations, workplace giving projects, funding scholarships, and even volunteering.
