Please join us as our faculty members discuss careers in private practice and working with children. Students will also present what it means to be a psychologist at their practicum sites. This is an opportunity to learn more about HSPP at Argosy University and how it is preparing its students.
Dr. Patrick Kamakawiwo’ole, PsyD, Core Faculty and Director of Internship
Topic: A Career in Private Practice
Dr. Kamakawiwo’ole’s areas of specialization include: identity development, diverse and marginalized populations, LGBTIQ, HIV/AIDS primary and secondary prevention, Asian and Pacific Islander populations, Identity development, interpersonal and experiential theory and therapeutic interventions, family and group dynamics, program development, consultation and supervision.
Dr. Sean W. Scanlan, PhD, Program Dean and Associate Professor
Topic: Child Therapy
Dr. Scanlan has worked for over a decade, with hundreds of children and adolescents as a therapist, behavioral consultant, parent trainer, treatment program director, teacher, and coach. Dr. Scanlan specializes in autism spectrum disorder and externalizing behavior disorders.
