Creative Choices for Military Members and Veterans
Are you an active duty member of military, a veteran, or the spouse of an active duty member of the military? Have a passion for a creative career in graphic design, advertising, culinary management or other fields? Then pursuing your education at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh – Online Division can be particularly well-suited for people like you - military personnel who want to earn a degree while on active duty or on reserve.
Obtaining a degree online can fit into your busy work and life schedule. You can attend class when it fits your schedule from anywhere you can connect to the internet. And, if you are deployed to different locations, you can stay in the same degree program.
Perhaps the best part about pursuing your associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s or even doctorate online while on active duty is that when you do leave the military, you will be ahead of the game and ready to pursue the next phase of your life and career.
The Same Types of Benefits as Ground Schools
Going to school online doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice the potential for the same opportunity to receive the benefits military students do at “traditional” brick and mortar campuses. The Art Institute of Pittsburgh - Online Division has structured the tuition schedule for military affiliated personnel and spouses of active duty service members to eliminate or minimize their out-of-pocket costs. Financial aid is available for those who qualify.
Tuition & Fees
The Art Institute of Pittsburgh - Online Division offers a special military tuition discount of 10% to eligible Active Duty, Active and Drilling members of the Reserve and National Guard and spouses of Active Duty military personnel. Based on current charges, the 10% tuition discount makes the cost per credit hour $411.30.
The Online Lab Fee, enrollment fee and the application fee are waived for Active Duty and Active and Drilling members of the Reserve and National Guard. The application fee is waived for all veterans who qualify for government military education financial aid and spouses of Active Duty military personnel.
Transfer of Credit
Your military service and/or previous education may qualify you for university credits. Students who wish to have their military experience and training evaluated for university credit should submit copies of appropriate forms to the registrar's office.
