Starting Off in Style at Pittsburgh Fashion Week

Who says you have to go to New York or Paris for great fashion? Thanks to the hard work of some in Pittsburgh, like Pittsburgh Fashion Week founder and executive director Miyoshi Anderson, hundreds of locals were treated to a runway show under a big tent and a dazzling light display in the city’s Market Square.

Featuring Doncaster fashions and a pulsing soundtrack, models showcased fur pieces, sequined separates, animal prints and a range of other garments designed for autumn and the holidays.

The show itself lasted for about 40 minutes and concluded with a jubilant round of applause for the designers, make-up artists, support crew and for Doncaster lead designer Patricia Clyne, who flew in for the show.

The event was attended by a range of Pittsburgh VIP’s and local celebrities, and also included a strong showing from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, a sponsor of the show. A number of students were volunteers at the event and clearly enjoyed seeing a real-live runway show up close and personal.

Pittsburgh Fashion Week is continuing on throughout the region from September 26 – October 1st.
