Your Prior Learning Might Help Save You Time and Money
Did you know that, as of July 2011, undergraduate students can submit a portfolio of their professional learning to determine if that learning can earn credit through a prior learning assessment or PLA?
PLA can help students potentially have a faster path to graduation – and save some money along the way – because PLA credits are earned even while students are continuing to take courses at Argosy University.
Credits earned through a prior learning assessment portfolio can be counted towards your total credits as you proceed towards graduation. To determine if your prior learning can earn credit, undergraduate students can submit a portfolio of their professional learning to the Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) center.
PLA can help students potentially have a faster path to graduation – and save some money along the way – because PLA credits are earned while students are continuing to take courses at Argosy.
How it Works
Students can submit a portfolio of licenses, certificates, or corporate training for assessment for PLA credits.
There is a $95, one-time fee for the assessment process. This fee will cover any and all credits assessed and awarded to you over the entire course of your degree program – meaning you can submit a portfolio at any time and you’ll only pay the fee once. Although, we do encourage students to submit their learning for evaluation as early as possible.
How to Get Started
You can contact your Academic Counselor to see if any credits in your program can be fulfilled through PLA. You can also contact PLA for a brief online or over the phone interview:
